Dr. B's 10th grade English students spent the day before Fall break doing Round Robin creative writing.

Today, Officer Turner and Officer Raina had the opportunity to connect with our high school students and walk them through the Standard Response Protocol (SRP).
The SRP helps prepare everyone for what to do in the event of an emergency—from a lockdown, evacuation, or even inclement weather. Our goal is to make sure students and staff feel confident, calm, and ready, not fearful.
We’re proud of the way our students engaged, asked questions, and took an active role in their own safety. Together, we’re building a culture of preparedness at Hillcrest.

A community member, Mrs. Kathy Evans, reached out about helping our back pack program. As part of her efforts she created a flyer to help showcase this cause. If you would like to donate towards this, please reach out to Mrs. Turner at the high school.

This group of students worked hard to prepare their own big collections for parent night. They searched for and caught bugs, pinned and labeled them, graphed insect characteristics and counted votes for the favorite bug. Thank you all for checking out their collections! The votes were counted and tallied, and the winner of the favorite bug chosen by all who voted is number 18, Chancellor Rickard’s butterfly!
Special shoutout to our paraprofessionals who helped the students with this special project! (Mrs. Brandi, Mrs. Heidi and Mrs. Jennifer)
