The Miss Hillcrest Pageant begins tonight at 5pm. Practice begins at 3:00 and ends at 4:30 and is not mandatory.

Summer Baseball and Softball:
Baseball: All Baseball teams will wear gray pants this summer. Boys uniform tops will be red this summer. We ask you to have a blue belt and blue socks(socks are optional). IF you use your own bat, ages 7-12, the bats must have a USA stamp on them. 13-16 will follow High School rules about bats. We will have a few helmets, most choose to get their own .
Softball: All softball teams will wear gray pants. Softball shirts will be blue. We ask you to have a red belt and red socks(socks are optional). There is no bat rules for softball. We have a few helmets, most choose to purchase their own.
Practices will be announced soon. Some will start before others, please be patient during this process. Some of our coaches are still in High school ball for a couple more weeks.
With the threat of rain beginning around start time of T-Ball practice, we will postpone tonight's practice. We will do everything we can to play the T-ball games on Saturday at 1:00. Red and Blue teams, please come early so we can hand the shirts out. Black and Gray teams, please be there by 1:40 to receive your shirts before your game. If field conditions are too wet, we will reschedule if possible. We will announce postponements through Facebook and Live feed from the school. We will charge a $2 admission for T Ball games, ages 5 and under enter free.
I would like to say thank you to all our patrons who responded as we considered a balanced schedule for the 2023-2024 school year. We had great feedback that we will use as we continue having conversations in developing a balanced schedule. With that said, the Hillcrest School District will remain on a traditional calendar for the 23-24 school year. The school year will begin on August 14, 2023 with the last day of school scheduled for May 24, 2024. We will transition to the balanced schedule with the 2024-2025 school year which will allow our patrons a year to adjust your schedule to the new calendar. We will also continue having conversations with the concerns that were brought to us such as childcare, student work schedules, college/online courses, etc.. As a district we are committed to provide the best education possible for our Learners in preparing them for opportunities past high school. The 2023/2024 calendar is attached.
ACT Aspire summative testing for 7th and 8th grade students will be Wednesday and Thursday, 4/19 & 4/20. Please have your Macbooks fully charged.
Baseball/Softball Schedule Change:
Due to the chance of rain and storms coming Thursday and Friday. Both baseball and softball have rescheduled a game this week.
Baseball will play Armorel, Wednesday at 4:30 at Strawberry.
Softball will play @Mammoth Spring Wednesday at 3:30.
Sorry for the inconvenience of the change but conference games have to be complete this week. Both Baseball and Softball district tournaments will be played next week at Marked Tree. Tournament bracket will be post when available.

Congrats to Lady Screamin' Eagle Kennedy Brannon for being selected to the North Central Senior All Star game at ICC. Kennedy was able to put on that Lady Screamin' Eagle uniform one more time and represent Hillcrest! Looks like she might have got a little radio time as well!! Congrats Kennedy!
Congrats to the Screamin' Eagle baseball team for their Runner -up finish in the First Community Bank/Pioneer Classic Tournament in Batesville. These guys played 4 games in two days, three today. The Screamin Eagles defeated Augusta, Bradford, and Midland before falling to a good Pangburn team in the finals! Two BIG conference games next week vs Marked Tree and Armorel. Come if you can!
2nd grade had a popsicle party for filling up their March math goal chart!🎉
Friday is bookworm day in Mrs. Brannon's intro to media for 7th & 8th grade. These students have read each Friday all year and their attention span for sustained silent reading has noticeably increased! This SSR initiative is being practiced campus wide. Go Screamin' Eagles!
