I would like to say thank you to all our patrons who responded as we considered a balanced schedule for the 2023-2024 school year. We had great feedback that we will use as we continue having conversations in developing a balanced schedule. With that said, the Hillcrest School District will remain on a traditional calendar for the 23-24 school year. The school year will begin on August 14, 2023 with the last day of school scheduled for May 24, 2024. We will transition to the balanced schedule with the 2024-2025 school year which will allow our patrons a year to adjust your schedule to the new calendar. We will also continue having conversations with the concerns that were brought to us such as childcare, student work schedules, college/online courses, etc.. As a district we are committed to provide the best education possible for our Learners in preparing them for opportunities past high school. The 2023/2024 calendar is attached.
ACT Aspire summative testing for 7th and 8th grade students will be Wednesday and Thursday, 4/19 & 4/20. Please have your Macbooks fully charged.
Baseball/Softball Schedule Change:
Due to the chance of rain and storms coming Thursday and Friday. Both baseball and softball have rescheduled a game this week.
Baseball will play Armorel, Wednesday at 4:30 at Strawberry.
Softball will play @Mammoth Spring Wednesday at 3:30.
Sorry for the inconvenience of the change but conference games have to be complete this week. Both Baseball and Softball district tournaments will be played next week at Marked Tree. Tournament bracket will be post when available.

Congrats to Lady Screamin' Eagle Kennedy Brannon for being selected to the North Central Senior All Star game at ICC. Kennedy was able to put on that Lady Screamin' Eagle uniform one more time and represent Hillcrest! Looks like she might have got a little radio time as well!! Congrats Kennedy!
Congrats to the Screamin' Eagle baseball team for their Runner -up finish in the First Community Bank/Pioneer Classic Tournament in Batesville. These guys played 4 games in two days, three today. The Screamin Eagles defeated Augusta, Bradford, and Midland before falling to a good Pangburn team in the finals! Two BIG conference games next week vs Marked Tree and Armorel. Come if you can!
2nd grade had a popsicle party for filling up their March math goal chart!🎉
Friday is bookworm day in Mrs. Brannon's intro to media for 7th & 8th grade. These students have read each Friday all year and their attention span for sustained silent reading has noticeably increased! This SSR initiative is being practiced campus wide. Go Screamin' Eagles!

The Lynn Church of Christ will be hosting a clothing giveaway. It will be in Lynn at the Church of Christ fellowship building on April 22nd from 9 am to 1 pm. There will be all sizes of clothing/shoes available from adults to babies. Household and hygiene items will also be available. If you are in need of any of these items they encourage you to attend.

The Miss Hillcrest Pageant takes place next Friday the 21st of April. More entrants are needed so please send any forms and fees to school with your child or to any Hillcrest office. The deadline for entrants has been extended to April 17th!
Reminder: Summer Baseball/Softball forms and fees are due this Friday, April 14. Forms can be picked up in either office. Also, check the previous Facebook page for the Summerball form link. Summerball forms need to be turned in to either the High School or Elementary office.
