Hillcrest Elementary has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school where students demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire!
As you may know, the OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards where we recognize schools with high student academic growth. We think growth is the best indicator of the positive impact that your school is having on students.
In our Elementary School Level report published today, Hillcrest Elementary received the following awards:
High Overall Growth (Northeast region)
High Math Growth (Northeast region)
We provide badges for placement on your school's website (attached), and personalized paper awards will be sent to the district later this school year.
Awards are based on the 2023 content growth score calculated by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. These growth scores reflect how much students at the school improved from 2022 compared to how much they were expected to grow considering prior achievement. We recognize schools based on Overall growth, as well as for growth in Math and English Language Arts separately.

Tuesday, October 3rd, is the LAST intramural night. Gate opens at 4:30, games begin at 5:00. Admission will be a monetary donation ($2) or an item that can be used at a Fun Fest booth, examples include:
a) A 6-pack or a two-liter soda for each adult admission
b) Bag of candy for each adult admission
c) A Bingo Prize for each adult admission
Tomorrow, Friday, September 29th is the 4th intramural night. Gate opens at 4:30, games begin at 5:00. Admission will be a monetary donation, of at $2 (or more) for adults, ALL proceeds tomorrow night will be used to purchase Fun Fest prizes. Fun Fest is next Friday, October 6, 5:00-7:30.

Attention Hillcrest Fans:
Basketball season is approaching us very quickly! We invite everyone to come and join us Thursday, October 12th, for the Red, White, and Blue games beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Admission for the games is a non-perishable food item or donation. This is to help with our school backpack program. The link attached is a list of supplies needed for the program. We hope to see everyone there!
